Why Green Tea? superior nutrition
In the multitude of research studies today, the majority of the health benefits associated with green tea are attributed to an antioxidant compound known as catechins; the star substance of which is EGCG. Green tea leaves have far more catechins than other teas.

Facts about the health benefits from eating your tea!

Green tea leaves contain the powerful antioxidant compounds known as catechins (which contain the powerful EGCG), vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, C, E, niacin, potassium, calcium, phosphorus, iron, carotene, potassium, manganese, zinc, copper and naturally occurring fluoride. Green tea is also a good source of proteins, chlorophyll, lignin, and amino acids including theanine. On average sencha has 30% more catechins (antioxidants), more than 4 times as much vitamin C and 2.5 times more vitamin E.

Eat Your Tea for maximum nutrition
While we are big fans of drinking green tea, much of the research suggests you'd still have to consume 10, 15 or in some cases 25 cups a day, every day, to achieve the health benefits associated with many findings. In addition, more than half of the nutrients in green tea such as beta-carotene, vitamin E, vitamin A, chlorophyll, and dietary fiber are insoluble in water, so are not released in brewed tea. Take full advantage of the benefits of this amazing herb. Eat your tea!

Fortunately there are several ways to easily consume the whole green tea leaf.

Whether you mix our convenient organic green tea powder in hot or cold water, milk or juice or use the organic loose leaf to sprinkle as a topping  there are numerous ways to incorporate antioxidant-rich green tea in your regular routine.  Add green tea to a tasty breakfast smoothie, juice, dressings, seasonings, as a salad topping, in soups, in mashed potatoes, or as a topping on baked potatoes. There are even tasty ways to combine green tea powder as a topping for popcorn!  Use green tea as a garnish atop an hors d'oeuvre at your next party and watch your guest struggle to identify the new and tasty herb.

Why is Sencha our favorite variety?
Although Matcha is famous for tea ceremonies and is becoming more popular in the west, it is actually the Sencha leaves that store the most catechins (antioxidants), especially the prized EGCG. Our organic Sencha green tea is also more mild, easier to mix and more flexible in recipes and beverages than matcha. Try some for yourself.

On average Sencha green tea has 30% more catechin (antioxidants) than its green tea cousin Matcha, more than 4 times as much vitamin C and 2.5 times more vitamin E.
